Identification of Two Phytosterol and a Glycoside in Sabicea Brevipes Plant RootExtract

Abstract

Sabicea brevipes root extracts were analyzed by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) for the presence of
steroids and glycosides, and the results revealed the presence of (1) Dehydro epi androsterone (DHEA),
(2) 17- Hydroxyprogesterone steroids, and (3) one kind of glycoside. The RF values were compared to
those found in the published literature, which allowed for the identification of the names and structures
of compounds 1 and 2
